creep feeding.....

    wondering what sort of ration people are feeding to young calfs to get them started on the creep,,also, what do people think of rolled barley to finish weanlings,cheers

    Something with a high molasis content is always a good start. Plenty sweet to get them hooked. Calf crunch is good.

    Then we would start mixing in beef nut, and then onto full beef nut fairly quickly.

    We creep our calves on straights best value of all the calves love it right from the star to finish rolled barley, soya, citrus and maize around 225 a ton from local merchent!

    prime stock Museli is mighty sticky and they love it to get them started 11.20 for 25kg from NCF coop
