Un-buckling Alloy Wheels?

    Folks,
Got a new set of tyres for my car last week and it seems like at least 3 of my alloys have buckles ranging from mild to pretty severe! One of the alloys has 2 strips of wheel weights on it about 6 inches long each so I guess that one is pretty well screwed.
The alloys themselves are 18in BBS and would cost a fortune to replace as they are original Volvo ones. Does anyone out there know of anywhere I can get the buckles straightened out? The car drives fine but I am afraid I will be wearing through tyres faster and causing stress on wheel bearings and so on if I keep driving with these buckles.
    Thanks.

Where are you based? I know a few place in Limerick that do it, I think they all charge €50 a corner!
I have had a few done over the last while and have found that once the wheel gets buckled at all its weakened so even if you get it straightened the slightest knock can fúck it again!!

can you feel the buckel. and what type of tyres were they. i got new alloys yesterday and they had pleanty of weights on them.

it might nt be the wheel but the tyres. try and change the tyres from wheel to wheel.

Thought I'd resurrect this thread as I have a similar issue instead of starting a new one..

OP, where are you based-and where did you get your buckled wheel sorted?

Alan1990, you mentioned a place in Limerick-can you let me know where, and did you use them?

Got a slight buckle on one wheel-passenger front-hit a rock on side of the road avoiding some stupid f**kin tourist coming around a bend middle of the road from Enniskerry to Roundwood:(

Had it balanced but there's still a wobble in the steering over 95Kph, so assume its probably not too bad.

If anyone else knows somewhere decent around Dublin or Limerick please let me know.

edit; BTW if you used the place yourself especially.

    Thanks all.

    Thanks all.

John Collins tyre centre out in Ballyneety village will repair the buckle for you. He is at the side of the Texaco garage. He charges around €50/€60 per rim.

Limerick Tyre Centre, in Fentons yard just out past 4home in Raheen can get it done for you! They charge €50 a wheel! They don't to it themselves though so it usually takes about 2 days by the time the send it out and get it back again! I've used them and never had a problem!!

Tallon wheels in carlow are also very good for this, €50 a corner the last time I had it done

They send them out to John Collins. ;)

i know a guy who does it but he recons bmw rims are too tough to straighten so same could be true of the bbs alloys, he is only usually successful with cheaper softer alloys
