Customs limit coming back from Tenerife

    Hi all,

Going to Tenerife in October with the hubby and had planned on bringing back 10 cartons. He doesn't smoke, so it would be 5 cartons (1,000 smokes) in his case and 5 cartons in mine. Until after a little more research, I realised the Canary Islands are classed as non-EU when it comes to customs limits, which is a maximum of 200 smokes per person (which is a joke).

Has anyone any experience of bringing back this amount or close to it from the Canary Islands? Are Customs very strict with enforcing those limits? Any advice/opinion welcome.

Also, is John Player Blue readily available in Tenerife? And is it cheaper to buy in Dublin Airport, Tenerife Airport or in a shop in Tenerife?

    Thanks.

Please use the links provided in the forum charter to navigate to the Revenue website for information on personal allowances.

To discuss knowingly breaching those limits is against the forum charter.
