Hi we have renovated a cottage and built an extension so that the main room of the original cottage is now our sitting room. We have 2 medium sized wood pvc windows in the room and when we were plastering the house we decided to leave out the window areas as the walls are about 2 feet deep and we thought we might do something with wood around the window! We have exposed the original stone on the opposite wall and will have oak beams over door and stone fireplace. Any thoughts on what we could do? all advice welcome. Thanks

Post up a picture so we can see it visually rather than trying to imagine it :-)

Seen a window on grand designs a few years ago where the had the whole surround done in wood (Sides and top). Not just the bottom cill. Just plain old wood but it looked great!

Shutters. It's probably what would have been there originally.
