JJ Smyths , Aungier St, Dublin

Slatterys in Rathmines, had many a good night there but haven't been upstairs there for a while.

Blue Note in Capel Street was excellent, closed now, no idea if the owners are running something similar elsewhere.

I've never actually been there, but I'd say Dolan's in Limerick would be up there.

I have to disagree with Whelans. Haven't been to many worse venues tbh. Very expensive and sound isn't great.

The Spirit Store in Dundalk is pure magic! I love it! The way it's set up creates a rapt audience and it's renowned enough to attract quality musicians.
In fact if you're into gigs and you haven't been, I would highly recommend. You're guaranteed a good night.

I like the Cobblestone but it's hit and miss.

The Sugar Club, in Dublin is a nice little place too! The Academy usually have some pretty decent bands playing there. Used to like upstairs in Cuba, Galway. Some nice reggae bands there once in a while (when it was open). They're opening it back up I hear! :)
