That's a pity, just because of some aholes potentially libellous comment?

Can still get a previous version of it via The WayBackMachine archive: http://web.archive.org/web/20110717015443/http://www.irishships.com/

or go to http://web.archive.org/ and type in www.irishships.com if the above link is unique to me only.

    Shame that it's gone though.

Its a real shame that one person can ruin a great site ! Hopefully it will be back online soon without the forum and guestbook feature to stop any more twats from ruining it

Obviously it's hosted in Ireland, he should change the host to USA and then he can't be sued

    That's a shame, a little drastic though.

I'd prefer to see the site running and over moderated than not running at all.

Often this time of year is when hosting companies look for money. Shutting down your website is their way of getting your attention.

It has been down for a week or so.

Domain has been registered via Australia for a long time. See the whois record for irishships.com with a privacy registrant address in California, USA. Nameservers come out of Bulgaria.

To avoid Irish legal issues, site and owner need to be actually outside ireland and preferably EU. Suspect McCabe's problem is that he actually lives in Ireland and therefore the Irish Courts have nexus.

irishships.com is gone again and this time it is explicitly excluded from waybackmachine. What is going on?

Same crap again, someone won't keep their mouth shut, more legal action being threatened. It's been gone now since about May IIRC, such a pity.
