This story is quite shocking really, but the guy died mainly because of lack of sleep and too much cigarettes and alcohol...
Jiang Xiaoshan, 26, died of exhaustion on Tuesday, after working all day and then staying up all night to keep up with every single game of Euro 2012. It is thought that a mixture of too much alcohol, cigarettes and lack of sleep weakened his immune system, eventually causing his death.

Because of the time differences, Xiaoshan had to watch the games in the middle of the night and was so desperately engrossed in the sporting competition, that his biggest passion in life sadly caused his untimely demise.

    Source.

Further down in the article it says

"The saddest part of this tale is that the night Jiang died in his sleep at his home in Changsha, was the night that he watched the Ireland vs Italy game. Well, I watched that match myself, so I can totally understand how he felt. What a terribly depressing game of football."

Source is from something called Gorgeous Magazine.
Even more shocking than how silly the source name is, is that even the daily mail has a more reasoned headline

Chinese football fan, 26, dies after going ELEVEN nights without sleep as he watched every single Euro 2012 match
