    Hi all
The BBC will be putting (I believe) 24HD channels on freesat
Any idea how to find them on a FTA receiver
    Cheers

You have to do a transponder scan.

As it happens, they seem to have begun the HD tests yesterday.

So try a scan on frequency 12422 Mhz, polarity H, SR 29500, modulation DVB-S2, FEC 3/4.

You might have to add a new transponder first it this one isn't in your list.

They'll probably end up using several transponders for the 24 channels, so you'll have to do this again when all the channels are launched. Keep an eye on the King of Sat news for updates.

    Cheers for that
I have a Panasonic TV with FTA built in so I assume I do a quick scan for new channels

Will I have to add them to Extra Channels on a non sub Sky box? Or are they all available via the red botton?

Most receivers have the option of a full scan, or a single transponder scan. Either will get the new channels, but I prefer to do a transponder scan as a full scan takes longer and adds any channels you may have deleted.

I'm not familiar with the Panasonic, have a look through the menus for "Single" or "TP scan" or something similar. Maybe that is Quick scan?

I think they're planned to be on the red button, but they haven't launched officially yet. If you want to see

    use Extra Channels:D

Edit: I don't think Sky boxes can manually tune using the SR of 29500, so you'll have to use the red button.

Quite possibly. I haven't actually scanned them myself yet, I did scan for the SD tests last week, and they were all labeled 7280 or similar.

I have 24 at the moment labelled 78xx. Lowest number is 7802, highest 7845 so all the numbers are not used.

    According to the BBC website:
The BBC's Red Button service for the Olympics on Sky, Virgin Media and Freesat will offer audiences access to up to 24 live streams, while there will be an additional 24-hour channel of extra BBC Olympics content available via the BBC Red Button for audiences with Freeview and BT Vision.
