    My aunt and uncle (65+) have asked me to buy them a new laptop.

    They need it soon and the requirements are;
    Easy to use
    No frills
    reliable

    They will just use it for internet and email.

    Please send some suggestions - I am hoping to buy it tomorrow or Saturday.

    Budget 300-500

    Hmm, an Android tablet could do all that, if that would be better? Or just a phone even. Does it need to be a laptop?

    Yeah they are technophobes. They wanted a new workstation PC (old one died) but I convinced them to switch to a laptop.

    If they have a desk, and this machine isn't going to move anywhere you'd get a much better, and most likely a much more reliable desktop. Laptop may not be the best of ideas.

    Hmm, any way to let them mess about with a tablet for a little while? I would think a tablet would be more straightforward then a laptop once they'd get used to it.

    It's the tablets they do mess around with that convinces me they would not appreciate the non-medicated tablet...

    Hmm, a Chromebook might be a good option....Don't know if they're in stores though.

    I bought my parents (had never ever used a computer!) the cheapest wifi only iPad. They love it, the only"how do I do....." call I ever got was to set up a skype account for them. Never used an android one, but might be cheaper? The iPad is so simple and straightforward for them though.....money well spent as far as I'm concerned
