Gardaí and Irish Rail have launched investigations into an incident which saw a train on the Ennis-Limerick rail line strike a tractor in Co. Clare this afternoon.

It is believed the collision, which occured at about half 3, saw the Galway-bound service strike an agricultural vehicle in the vicinity of a level crossing at Ballymorris in Cratloe.
More work for the RAIU. Hope the two drivers are okay but it will be interesting to see how this crossing complies with previous recommendations.
