Sky HD box

I must admit that I know little or nothing about satellite tv boxes. I am not a sky customer but I use their Digibox for free to air channels. I was wondering how should I go about hooking up to HD?

Is it a simple case of buying a HD box and I'm ready to go or is it more complicated than that? Any advice on what and where to purchase and so on, would be much appreciated.

    Thanks!

Well you obviously need a HD TV and box to start with. You could try Adverts.ie for a HD box as there are some bargains to be had there at times. When you get the box its just a straight swap for your old box.

You wont get many HD channels though. ITV and BBC and maybe one or two others but I think the number of free channels available on HD will probably increase over a period of time.

    Thanks for your reply!

My Tv is HD so it look like I'm ready to go. Should I use a scart lead or hdmi to link up with, or does it really matter?

You will need a HDMI cable to view in HD.
