You should be able to connect using a network cable plugged from your modem or router into the laptop, and then download the correct driver from:

    http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=WLAN&p=3&os=30

You will need to know what brand WLAN card is in your laptop. If you don't know, open Device Manager under Control Panel and under Unknown Devices, let us know what information is in there.

It is giving me no information about the card, no name, type, manufacturer. I don't know what to do!

Do as above with the network cable to the router. Go to your laptop maker website, find the support section, locate your model number and look for drivers and go to the network section and locate your driver. download it and install it.

Usually if your using vista or win 7 if you restart you system it will pick up the wlan card and install the driver for you.

You could also physically look at the card for make and model number, unscrew the access panel with a network symbol on it on the bottom of laptop, may also be the memory access panel and you will see a small card with one or two wires on it, note the name and model number on it, remove it carefully if needed, but first discharge your body static electricity from yourself by touching a tap or something else earthed, remove power cord, remove battery and press the power button . Google for driver, download and install.

If you can't get to connect with network cable go to internet cafe or friends system and download driver put it on usb key and install it.
