Hi - temporarily moving house while the builders are in and obviously won't need eircom in the old house but will need Broadband in the new one.

Is it possible to switch our broadband provision to our new house for 6 months?
If possible, an indication of the estimated timeframe for this process would also be helpful.

    Thanks.

    Hi Sacksian,

Thanks for your query. You should contact our Services Department directly if you urgently need to move into your new premises.

Generally, you should be able to keep your phone number and transfer your broadband to your new premises. This can be switched electronically (see contact details below).

Obviously keeping your current phone number depends on where you are moving to. Whether this is in the same neighbourhood, or if you are perhaps moving out of the county to a different district. If a phoneline currently exists in the new premises or if a new phoneline activation or phoneline build is required. Broadband may also need to be setup and tested by eircom engineers. It may also depend on whether a fixed broadband account already exists in the premises. The service team will need to find out this first before they can advise you.

A new phoneline can be activated in 24/48 hours, while it can take a further 5 working days after this for broadband to be setup.

The Services Department can be contacted on freefone - 1800 242 633 (eircom services department)

Give them a quick call and have your details to hand, as well as your eircom Account number.

Best of luck with the new building and let me know if you need futher assistance or advice.

    Best regards,
    Ant
