Aerial, bracket, cable, small pole cost 165 euro.
    Official Saorview receiver : 105 euro. ( Triax 112) I think

This is what a friend of mine paid 2 weeks ago from a Installer from one of the approved Associations.

Installers had all correct equipment, metre, tools, etc, and showed his ID card before installation, and the ID number on his ID card was the same as the logo on his van.

My friend knew he could get it a good bite cheaper, be he wanted it done correctly, and is very very fusy.

The end job was excellent, and little things like covers where the cable entered the house, and cleaned up after himself.

you get what you pay for.

Well he was ripped off if he paid 105 for a Triax 112 when its only 75-80 in shops.

Bit dear for the install itself too.

I don't see how the installation was a bit dear, take away the cost of equipment, diesel, public liability insurance, using his own tools and van, road tax, van insurance, trade body membership, 23% vat, income tax and everything else it costs to go to work and I think the installer charged a fair price.

As for the price of the tr112, its RRP in DID electrical is 129.99 and is on special offer for €79.99, Tr112's are expensive even at trade prices for installers to buy.

Must disagree, he got a guarantee from the company with a receipt, and if anything goes wrong, he does not have to worry who to call, aerialman or shop.

He knew he could get the stuff himself, but he wanted it done right, also no worries.

He phoned around first, and this was not the dearest price, one company quoted € 165 for the box and 220 for the aerial and they where not members of any Association, so still original price was good. Buy the way cheapested was box €68, and aerial 95, but not members of any Association.

These are the exact words from Saorview Team at Trade seminar April 2011 in Dublin told to over 200 installers who attended

Its here for all to see
    http://www.saorview.ie/help-support/faqs/what-does-it-cost-to-switch/

Aerial installation €140- €160 which is an Indicative price as all houses and installs are different.

An approved saorview receiver will range in price from €60 - €100

so on average a customer will Spend €230 for a Aerial, lashing kit, chimney cradle and pole installed on chimney along with a Walker saorview approved receiver cabled down to 1 point and maybe more for extra points, work or cabling etc etc etc.

Any guy can buy a cheap black tip group b and unapproved receiver for the price of €55 euro from online sites, market stalls or shops and charge €100 to install.

But for that price it most likely wont be chimney mounted. it will probably be mounted on a upside down Zone 2 wall bracket.
