Excel Conditional Formatting

    To all you excel geniuses,

    I want to set up some conditional formatting and cannot figure it out.

    Supposing I am comparing the values in column B to the values in column A.

    I want the values in column B to change colour when they fall below a certain percentage of the value in column A.

    For example, if the value in cell B1 was 10% lower than the value in cell A1, it would turn red.

    Help appreciated. Hope that makes sense.

    What version of excel are you using?

    This seems to work....
    1. Go to conditional formatting
    2. Click "new rule"
    3. Click "use a formula to determine which cells to format"
    4. Enter this formula - =$B$1<=($A$1*0.9)
    5. Set fill colour to red

    Thanks.

    How do I apply the conditional formatting to more than one cell?

    It works for that cell, but now I want to apply it the whole column.

    Just remove the dollar symbols from the formula.
