How simple is it switching from Sky to UPC?

I have been with Sky for years now in my current house and the one before but lately the whole family is just fed up with paying so much and the service they offer.

So were looking at UPC as we already have broadband and phone with them and i have watched enough of there content in other houses to see that there is no major difference in quality.

What im wondering though is how straight forward is it to switch from one to the other?? We are wired for sky + box in the front room and a sky hd box around the side so would it be as straight forward as canceling switching companys and pretty much just changing boxs??

I have to consider price as well trying to save money so im no longer bothered with HD content really all we want is maybe 2 + boxs that can record content and be multiroom. And most of the basic channels and sky sports.

I expect the UPC installers would run cables from the point where the UPC cable already enters the house to the two TV locations.
I wouldn't expect that they would reuse the Sky cable, best not too, as you can easily switch back to Sky or to Freesat

If you really want to save money, you should go for Freesat and Saorview.

See i just dont want it to cost an arm and a leg getting new boxs and connects put into the house. Me da wants one main box and 4 multiroom points but it sounds like that is going to cost alot with connection fees.

Best to contact UPC for a quote, you might get a deal as an existing customer.

But are you not comparing Sky TV with UPC TV AND Broadband. If you are doing that you should add the price you currently pay for broadband to the SKY TV plan and then compare..., as it's not like for like.

EDIT: Sorry I see you already have UPC broadband, what's the difference?, when I check it was not that much for me, I have UPC BB and SKY TV

Far as i know one is digital plus rest are standard.

    New problem....

I have two points down stairs set up for UPC.

Up stairs are all old. The fella on phone told me cost 90 euro to install new ones each time in each room.

Can these be gotten any cheaper.........?
