Pigeons / Doves getting ill and dying within 12-24 hrs

I have a number of pigeons / garden doves. the doves have starting dying off in recent weeks. They would be fine, then with 12 - 24 hrs, the would get dirty around their mouths, stop flying, huddle in a corner and literally just die. i cant fathom it. Anyone with any exeprience of this?

Are they feeding on spilt seed under feeders? Sounds like a fungal nfection

Collared Doves and Wood Pigeons often suffer from a disease called Trichomoniasis or canker. Here's some information about it from the RSPB

they were sharing some of the feed from the hens. layers pellets etc

I would go with this, I've had pigeons with Trichomoniasis last year. I've had a Greenfinch with it this year.
