    Length - 130m minimum to 145m maximum
    Width - 80m minimum to 90m maximum

So should be 420m to 470m for a lap, but I'm sure I've played on smaller ones. Most probably wouldn't be the full size.

If you have a smart phone, you could down load one of those running apps. It logs your distance, speed and so on. I use endomondo. Its very good and its free also.

Have measured perimeter of local gaa pitch - its 410 meters. Rule of thumb I use when doing laps is 4 laps equals 1 mile. So if you can do 12 laps of the field you are doing 5k - only difference with laps and the road is that laps will be on level ground the road will probably have a few hills!!

i regulary run around my local GAA Pitch when training. Normally I wear a Garmin (GPS) and it measures one lap approx 0.28 of a mile. Normally get to 1 mile marker about 3.5 laps. All GAA Pitch's may be slightly different though. But i would say 5 miles around pitch for me would be 17.5 laps.

depends on how much you cut the corners of the pitch too, somedays you might start turning at the 20!

Often said that 4 laps is equal to a mile.
