Needed - one saddle, cycling shorts, grips and gloves for use with this: http://a4.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/550411_10151037575685115_1752391319_n.jpg

Going to spend 60-90 minutes on it 2x per week for the next 8 weeks, and it will be a regular knock about/commuter machine thereafter once I get my nice shiny pretty road bike.

Was out for 70 minutes on it last night and the ar$e is absolutely torn off me and my hands are black from the glue like grips.

Suggestions on what to get appreciated. No idea how much this stuff tends to cost, but I don't want cheap crap or super elite cycle porn either. Just something decent and in the middle.

    Thank ya :)

I bought this >>> San Marco Provip Saddle in Halfords and it is very comfortable. It has a nice spongey feel without being too soft. I was out for a short 10k spin last night and was totally comfortable on it and that was only my 4th outing on a bike since getting it 2 weeks ago.

I bought a set of cycling gloves in aldi and fine them very good, they have gel padding in the palms but i've never used anything else/other brands and so have nothing to compare against but theyre perfect for what i want. I went for a plain black pair as i figured they wont show the dirt over time.

Brooks saddle? I've one and I don't think I could go back to a normal saddle, they are that comfortable. Their cheapest model sounds right for you, the B17. Fizik saddles get a good rep round here, though they are sometimes more expensive then Brooks saddles.

I've Charge bar tape and it's fairly heavily padded, so, I've not felt the need for gloves yet.

Charge Spoon saddle is good value and not many people seem to dislike it.

I borrowed one briefly from a friend and It wasn't too bad. It was white though, so it got swiftly returned :D

Comment from one of the lads last night (he was either staring at my saddle or my ass :-)) was that I liked my comfort - indeed ....hmmm....Brooks

+1 for the Brooks, got the B17 on the road bike and Flyer on the hybrid. Very comfy indeed, after trying out a few gel saddles.
