S3 newbie questions

    Hi

I'm half thinking of moving on from my iPhone 4 to an S3. I'm just a bit bored with the iOS UI, and it doesn't look like its going to evolve a whole lot with ios 6, so looking around at my options.

A few questions about the S3, for anyone that has one:

    1. Can you set up display themes? In particularly interested to know can you change the messanger screen from the black background that I've see in all the photos to a white background like on the iPhone?

    2. Can you set up widgets for pretty much any app? I'd like to know, for example, can you have a widget that goes a live feed from Facebook so that I can have a glance at what's happening without goin into te app.

    3. Does the voice recognition stuff work in ANY situation where text is required. A friend has a 4S and he can dictate his Facebook updates using Siri. (not directly from Siri, but there's a little mic symbol on the keyboard in Facebook and when he taps on that he can dictate an update)

So, for example, I'm posting this on my iPhone 4, typing on its keyboard. If I was using an S3, could I be dictating this post?

    4. On customisation: do I have to be into "flashing and rooting" to enjoy the experience of the phone? I'm fairly tech savvy, and I've jailbroken and unjailbroken my phone a few times, but I'm not sure I'd want to delve too deep. Is it okay out of the box? I know there's bloat ware involved, can that be removed easily? All I've done on my iPhone is stuck the unwanted apps into a folder called "rubbish". I know they're not removed, but at least they're tidied away. Can you do the same, or better, on the S3?
Thanks for any help you can offer.

Yes, with particular launchers you can switch themes, in the SMS app you can change the background to a almost white background, you can also download and use any number off other 3rd party SMS apps and use them if they suit you better.
    2. Can you set up widgets for pretty much any app? I'd like to know, for example, can you have a widget that goes a live feed from Facebook so that I can have a glance at what's happening without goin into te app.

Not any app, the developer has to have developed the widget along with the app, in facebooks case it does come with a widget that lets you view the latest updates.

I'm not sure on this, I haven't really played around with S voice yet. Someone else would be better at answering this.
    4. On customisation: do I have to be into "flashing and rooting" to enjoy the experience of the phone? Without root you can chuck the unwanted apps into a folder. As for customisation a different launcher allows you to theme and set up the device how you want, same with various widgets.

You can switch the keyboard into Google voice typing mode on the fly
