Table Runners

Hi all, bit of a strange request - I'm getting married in just over two weeks  and I need to get something to add a bit of colour to the tables at the wedding. I'm having cream sashes and chair covers because the venue didn't have any chair sashes in a colour that I liked. The flowers on the table are even cream too!

I wanted to get some table runners for the middle of the table (they're circular tables) to add a bit of colour, my mum was supposed to sort it for me as her and a friend are doing all the decorative stuff but it kind of got forgotten about. I've found great sites online I can get the exact colour I want but with only two weeks to go, I've run out of time (especially as it's in the states). There's an Irish site where they make them to order but again, I'm out of time.

Anyone know of any shops where I can buy inexpensive ones (in Dublin)? I'm less fussy about the colour now obviously. I've also looked in the regular homewares type shops to see if I can pick up some cheap ones but no dice

Nobody in my family can even sew a button on so we can't make them ourselves. Is there a kind of fabric that you can cut to a size without it needing to be hemmed so it won't look tatty?, The only other thing I can think of is getting thick ribbon but that would still be very thin down the centre of a table.

Any creative people have any suggestions of what we could do to add colour?

Typically - after posting this I found an easy solution within a few minutes - a roll of organza seems the easiest way forward and is something that is relatively easy to get. Phew! :)

I was just about to say the same thing. It works out fairly cheap and it won't fray when you cut it :)

they're pieces of cloth that "run" the length of the table and add colour. you can also have a centre piece on a round table.
