Technically I didn’t buy anything but after seeing the Karate Kid, I joined my local club and got my Dad to buy me a new Karate suit.
Sadly, two weeks and a kick in the n*ts later, the dream was over.
Think this was the start of my trend as a quitter in life, but in my defence the club was in Darndale, those little f*ckers would have eaten the Cobra Kai for breakfast

I bought a second-hand electric piano and then piano lessons directly as a result of this piece of music (Beethoven's Pathetique 2nd movement) at the end of The Man Who Wasn't There. The fact that it's a great film probably helped set the mood but I was spellbound by the music.

I eventually learned to play this piece top to bottom.
