They are a sales company through and through. All you need to do is convince them you're willing to do anything - even bordering on the illegal to make targets and you'll be grand. :D

Seriously - you need to fuse used car sales man with 'providing excellent customer service'. If you've done sales jobs before you'll know what I mean. If not a more simple level would be "Sell me this pen" exercise where you need to do FAB - Features and benefits.

Feature - it has a lid... Benefit - It wont stain your clothes, wont dry out.

Other thing is overcoming objections - pretty much "it's not €365 for an extra years warranty it's €1 a day" If you need it repaired more than once it will pay for itself...

Finally ABC - Always be closing. You need to watch that film with Alec Baldwin in it about seliing houses - great salesman film. Basically always be trying to get the person to buy. If someone proved to me in an interview they could do this they would almost always get hired. So when you're seliing your pen make sure you ask them if they would like to buy. Other closes you can google.. assumptive etc etc.

That and turn up looking nice you should be fine.

My interview is for an Admin position. Have you worked for Harvey Norman before?

Nope know a few that have - my back ground would be in that area of retail. As for admin not a clue. If the person interviewing you has come up from the ranks as it where - good communication skills and well turned out will help. If it'd admin at store level flexibility will be key although its obviously never a bad thing.

Interview went ok didnt get the job but the questions were normal pain the arse HR questions like what can you bring to this job etc, just google interview questions and have all your answers plan out so your not stumbling.

Mine was sales so admin might be different but if you have examples about meeting targets from another job (or make something up) they'll love that stuff and of course its all about the customer and all stuff.

Good luck with it and let's know how you get on

I had my interview today, it was okay, I think. How long did it take them to get back to you and let you know you didn't get it? I hope they let me know as soon as possible.

I had my interview over a week ago and no reply so I am just going to ring them this morning and see. I will be pissed if they didn't bother to ring back and let me know either way.

They were offering me full time (37 and a half hours) but that's in the warehouse.
