Is the 8GB ram upgrade worth it? Really thinking about getting a 13" at €1,258.29 (student discount) versus €1,168.50 4GB ram.

What do you think? I'll be running mostly office, word, and doing photoediting (on a small scale).

I think 4GB is enough for today's OS and today's main stream applications.

But if I was buying new today I would definitely go for 8GB just to future proof it somewhat. You can't upgrade the RAM yourself AFAIK so best off getting it now.

Stainless_Steel is spot on. The ram isn't upgradeable like it is in most laptops, so it's basically future proofing. 4GB is kinda the minimum for Lion. Hopefully the machine will last at least 3 or 4 OS upgrades, so going for 8 gigs will help it stay current for longer.

Yup, the RAM in the MBA isn't upgradable, so what you get now is what you're stuck with. In about a years time, 8GB will be as standard in the MBA, you should get it to future proof it. It's only an extra €90
