Looking for recommendations for two types of charger please, a standard fast charger, and a solar trickle charger. I favour performance and durability over price.

    Thanks,
    Adam

I have this one and use it a lot (I look after a few cars that don't get driven often enough so I'm regularly dealing with flat batteries)

Sometimes the above charger is on special offer and is about 15 or 20 quid cheaper than the stated price.

Thanks BrianD3. I like the dual capability, but what's the story with the "up to 4l" business? Sounds like nonsense to me, but I want to be sure as the car I want to charge right now is 4.4l. :)

I have that same one. its a solid charger. I wouldn't worry about the capacity statement. I think thats just to impress the regular 1.1l user. it pushes seven or 8 amps so to totally charge a huge big battery would take a little longer, thats all.

I could happily reccommend it. the ability to switch between fast and trickle charge is handy

Pardon the bump, never followed up on trickle chargers.

There seems to be various wattages, can anyone recommend one, or even just a brand? I've an old 7 series sitting in my drive and I'm happy for it to sit there for another month or two, but I don't like leaving the battery disconnected.

Maplin has a 4W one for example, but there's 7w and 2w on eBay too. No idea what wattage I need to trickle tbh, just want something versatile for futureproofing.
