TRACMAN / fitting article on wired

Got fitted for a new driver shaft recently in Carton. The numbers consistently came up about 10 yards of increased distance on the monitor. Can't see it transferring to the course tho. Different strokes for different blokes I suppose, that was just my experience.

Had to laugh at that article! "A week later, I had my upgraded driver and took it to the range. The first ball, I slaughtered, about 250 with a little roll, dead straight. There was only one thing to do." I bet I know what he did next - follow Phil around the US Open shouting 'get in the hole!'

The Trackman system is incredibly impressive. There are a few pros using it here, worth tracking them down (no pun intended!).

Titelist fitter was using Trackman there last week during my fitting,

Definitly not for the outdoors (outside of a range)

The gale wind and rain completely skewered my stats and essentially made it a bit of a wasted day, and a big loss of opportunity of a free fitting.

He gave me an estimate but said there is no way he was going to get into specifics, they are typically pretty big on their reputation, which is a very fair and valid point.

Turns out I'm just going with a regular project x shaft, when ideally I'd say there is something better for me : /

    ^ This

I'm contemplating putting some money into getting my TM Burner 2.0 irons custom fit.

I just found out they have a regular flex shaft in them, which is madness and definitly not for me. (I thought they were stiff)

Although I've been led to believe that a custom fitting and shaft change can cost in excess of €300, which is also madness if true

300 euro to custom fit a set of irons ?
Thats money well spent if you ask me,its a labour intensive procedure.

You could blow all that on a new driver and it might not even suit you .

But its really not. If someone is using the correct technology and equipment.

My Da got fitted for a set of Titleist AP irons, he hit his own 6 iron a couple of times, then hit the AP 6 iron a good few times.

And from that he pulled all the recommendations from the laptop. Adjustment to lie, the shafts everything.

Then he gave my Da the 6 iron he would be getting ( he had a case full of adjusted iron heads and then obviously a pick of loads of shafts) and never saw my old fella hit such good irons.

The whole process was about 20-30 minutes. And they are being built to spec at factory.

Now granted obviously thats being built at factory so hes really only paying for the fitting. But I'd be really only looking at replacement shafts and being measured for them to ensure they are suited.

    Mad money

To get reshafted may cost up to 300€ but to get a differing shaft option won't cost that, Fore Golf Charge a premium, 100€ fitting charge and then they charge for exotic shafts and the like, Which can put the price quite excessive. A std st0ck stiff shaft from any supplier will carry no such charge and they will normally have a choice of 2/3 option. Most places do charge any thing from 40€ for the fitting to deter the tyre kickers. The track man is a quality machine which I have used many time in the past, recently have used the Flight Scope 6.0 and seriously impressed too, same kinda Idea.
