In the UK they have Topuptv, apparently you pay for the likes of ESPN and Sky Sports per month and they send you a card for a slot on the tv to unscramble the channels, any idea if this is or likely to be in Ireland in the near future?

AFAIK Topup TV has relatively low take up though with BT winning PL contract recently (from ESPN - Sky still have bulk of matches) there may be a greater influx of subscribers from start of 2013-14 season.
