Software development in general would probably offer more opportunities and pay quiet a bit more. Im not sure about game design specifically. With programming you need to have the right aptitude for it and a real interest in it. Personally I couldn't do it. Great money in it at the moment though.

Best thing is decide which you would prefer to work in and follow that path. You wont last to long if you take up something that you dont really have any interest in.

Sagely advice. There were people in my CS course who did it because there was money in it. 99% sure none of them are working as engineers.

there's a big differance between fixing pc's and designing games!

if you've got time have a look into programming. There's loads of tutourials out there on the differnt languages(java,c++,c# etc).Be warned though, coding a simple 2d platformer isnt that simple and to code one that is fun and unique is even harder!

See the thing is i have kinda worked on both as a hobbies without thinking of making money out of it just for fun its just which ever would make more money.

Like on the computer maintance i have fixed many computers and laptops being hardware or software built my own pc.
But game design uses programmes like cinema 4d and 3ds max which i am also really into and know how to use :/.

The only thing is i have the maintance course if i want it just waiting on the game design offer.:/

I thing coding could be my thing in that aptitude test i did i got 90 in solving problems and an average of 40-50 on everything else but that could mean nothing :P
