Drive Off Insurance Claim

Whilst waiting for my hubby to come out of the shop, myself and the kids sitting paitently in the car, someone reversed into the back of ours. It jolted about 2 foot forward.
I thought maybe hubby had left it in drive or something but when I turned around to see a large vehicle stopped behind me and the passenger and driver looking at me and then driving off. I got out of the car and got the reg as it was driving off.

Hubby came out, had a look at car and went back into shop to see about looking at the cctv.
The shop have the footage of the car hitting ours and driving off, but not the reg. I've just come back to work after being in the station giving a statement. Guard said he would contact them directly and ask for them to bring in their documents.

Theres not a whole lot of damage, a bit of a scratch on back bumper and a dint in the front one where, with the jolt, it hit the bollard. My problem is that I had my arm around the back of my chair trying to hand my youngest child, in his car seat, a book. In February of this year I fractured my shoulder but it had healed, now I'm in agony with it again, because of the awkward position and banging into the drivers seat when the car jolted forward. I have an appointment with my doc this afternoon, and I'm sure hell just do me a letter to go to the Xray dept..

Where do I go from here? Can I claim for personal injury for something that was previously injured?

Once the van Insurance Company in identified you will be able to submit a claim. If not identified it will go through the MIBI. Both will be via PIAB as above.

Doesn't the person at fault need to be identified (and uninsured) in order to claim from MIBI?

So a previous injury has been aggravated? That'll whittle down your compensation quite a bit

    Hi
If your injury had healed+your doctor says you had no problem with it of late, does it not count as a fresh injury/claim??
something to do with the "egg-shell effect"...

An injury that aggravates a pre-existing injury usually results in more compo.
