Using SKY GO on Samsung SG2

I've ordered the SG2 through the emobile offer and will get 15gb data per month. Will be away from home when the Olympics start and no Sky in house. I know RTE will be showing a lot but my young fella is interested in the soccer matches and would like to watch them on SKY. My question is will it eat my data in a few hours? days? if he watches a lot of SKY GO? Also, could the phone be linked to tv and if so do I need an attachment? Cant remember what kind of tv is in house but think it might be older, non-flatscreen! Or else I guess I could "tether" phone to a netbook (theres no internet connection either)? Havent a clue how to do this but will look it up!!! Thanks!

It would go through data at a considerable rate, but moreso over the course of two weeks or so, at 2 hours a day or so. You can connect the GS2 to a TV using a HDMI adapter for it, though i have no idea how much they are, or where you would get them.

Yep. It'll eat your data. One soccer match uses about 2gb of data

Also, Sky GO doesn't support TV out and doesn't work on the latest Android software, ICS

We had the same problem last week for the euros,we were in a campervan for a week and had no proper tv and no internet so i got one these on a ready to go plan and it worked fine http://www.meteor.ie/support/mobile_broadband/payg_hotspot/ did cost a bit getting credit.
I am not sure if sky go would work through a tv cable from phone..

If you get a MHL adapter for your phone you will be able to connect the phone to the TV via HDMI.

But, I think Sky have disabled the ability to watch Sky Go in this way. (If anyone has done it then I'm willing to be prooven wrong)

Tethering the phone to the netbook is a simple process, under settings on the phone there should be an option to share WIFI

    Huh?

I thought it was released for ICS, but on Non-Rooted devices only.

Ah maybe it has . Haven't checked in a while.

    Edit
Nope. Not yet available on devices running ICS.
Maybe someone on XDA has a modified app but the official Sky GO doesn't work on ICS

Thanks for all the replies. Got the S2 and downloaded SKYGO app but when I try to use it I get "Sky go currently not supported on this device" . The phone is on Android version 4.0.3. So no go!! :D But I love the phone!!!

Sky will not be showing the Olympics so it wont be available via Sky Go. The BBC will be showing them in the UK.
