i've a lady working on a 3 day week for almost 2 years. Dept sw pay her for the other 2. She got a letter today to transfer to job seekers allowance. whats the implication of this? will her payments for the other 2 days be reduced or stopped?

Jobseekers Allowance is means tested. They will take into account the earnings rather than the number of days that she is working. They disregard the first 20 Euro she earns each day, and deduct 60% of the balance off her claim.

If she has a spouse or partner, their income will be taken into account (with similar disregards being applied), as well as any savings or other property that they own (excluding the home they live in).
