Can anyone tell me where I would get an F-Type compression crimper please in Dublin.

I bought one on Amazon and it is too short for the connections I use (http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0050N0S36/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00)

    Rgds.

The Amazon tool states that it's a crimping tool, not a compression tool. (The two are completely different.) Maybe they got the description wrong, in which case it's very misleading.

I'm amused to see that "people who bought this also bought.." THREADED 'F' PLUGS!!!

Anyway, you have discovered the hard way that the tool must match the plugs. There are many variations so it's best to buy them from the same supplier (except for Amazon, which wants to supply threaded plugs).

If you buy a tool, locally, be sure to take some plugs and test it.

A valuable lesson has been learned. :-(

The one above is adjustable, fits most compression F.

The one from Amazon is for Triax compression F, I bought a similar one from the UK but is was supplied with various changeable fittings for different sized F,

    Thank you for the information.

Cesium - Yes indeed, a buddy of mine, gave me some Triax connectors & they worked fine.

He also gave me some Liddy & they also worked.

Pistolpetes - I will be passing by Armstrongs tomorrow & will pop in.

Thank you all again for your help.

    Rgds.
