PRSI Voluntary Contributions

    HI All

I am currently retired and in receipt of an occupational pension. I am also self employed for the first time in 2011. My profit is less than €5k so I am not liable for PRSI. However, I wish to make the voluntary contribution of €253.

Will this be possible or will my voluntary contribution be calculated based on the last time I paid compulsory PRSI and the high/low rate of 6.6%/2.6% be applied?

    Thanks in advance.
