Hi all, I have an expired provisional licence for a catergory A motorbike and I'd like to apply for a category B. Do I have to sit the theory test again, or can I simply re-apply for both A and B? I guess what I'm asking is do you need two separate licences?

    Thanks

I gather you haven't sat a theory test for category B, yet? In that case, you must sit the theory test for category B, and then apply for a Learner permit/provisional and tick the box for both A and B on the form, you'll get one learner permit in the post with both categories ticked.

Thanks for the reply, do you know if it is the same test for categories B and A, and its just a question of ticking both boxes?

Sadly not. You have to do the B theory test first. :(
