Just spotted this on the RoK facebook page and am interested. Any idea what sort of numbers will be doing it? Would be really good prep for the Ring and more motivating than heading out and doing 100km myself but am worried that my avg speed of 20km/hr means i will be hours behind everyone else.

Mel, There expecting between 100-150 so not too bad. In terms of average speed. I'm currently around 22-23km/hr and you'll do that no bother if your with a group. Lets just hope the mother nature looks after us.

Hi, does anyone know if this event is a mass start or is it a case of registering at 07:30 and heading off at anytime until 09:00?

There is a group start at 08.30 but I believe you can head off at any time up to 09.00.

Lead car is leaving at 8:30 120km and 9:30 60km but saying that if someone arrives at 7:30 and wants to go. They won't be stopped!

did the 60k route legs tired today lots of uphill for 30k then the foodstop just after that the hardest pull of the day got to retaste the stuffing in the chicken sandwich cursing myself for eating to much.
Enjoyed the day very well sign posted and friendly people organising
    Well done

Did the 120km with a few friends in training for the ROK. Really enjoyed it. Previous max spin was 80km last week. Really well organised, take a bow CCC. Hope the girl who came off at the bad bend after about 10km was okay. Beautiful countryside and two nice climbs. The only thing that hit us by surprise was the hill up to the finish in the last 5km but the bananas and bars we got in Carriganimmy were enough to fuel us through.
Was glad of a nice cup of tea and sandwich after so thanks to the helpers in the GAA hall. Well done all.

Bring on the ROK.:D (and the tea and brack)

Well done to all at Coachford cycling club for organising a fantastic event. It was a nice route (I did the 120KM) which was well sign posted and all the major road junctions were marshalled. Ample food, showers and a friendly reception at the finish.

No negatives whatsoever. I'll be back next year.

Agreed with poster above I'll be back next year (it is only out the road a few mins)
But seriously very well planned (route)
    Very well executed (marshalled)
And exceptional welcome before and after
    Well done coachford
