Photograph restoration

    Hi,
This is my first time posting here. I got a chart today with photographs of my ancestors on it. The chart itself dates from around 1903, and I am not sure when the photos were taken but probably a few years earlier as the people in them died in the late 1800's and they look young enough in the photos. The condition of the photos in my opinion is not bad given their age but I was wondering if there would be anyway of restoring them.

The tricky part is that they are glued onto this chart and removing them would most likely damage the chart itself. I don't want to damage this for obvious reasons it is over 100 years old and beautiful. So does anyone know of anyone who would be around the Mullingar/ Westmeath/Meath area that might be able to restore the photos for me??

    Thanks for all help. :)

Also once I get the photos restored if possible, I want to get the chart itself framed. It has been folded in the past and is quiet delicate would there be anyone around the area I mentioned above that could do this for me?

Denis Towell (not 100% on the spelling)- a photographer in Ashbourne restored a couple of old family images that were in pretty poor condition - did a great job.
Not sure how much it cost as my mum got him to do it.
Don't know if he did it the work himself or if he passed it on to someone else to get the work done. Worth a try - I suppose.

I think most photo studios offer this as a service these days, so you should find somebody local. If not, James Carney in Navan has done a considerable amount of restoration for the Navan & District Historical Society, and produces some excellent results.
