Mazda 6: To buy or not to buy?

    I test drove a 2008 mazda 6 2L diesel car in a garage yesterday and am considering buying it. However, I don't know anyone who has one and said I'd check boards to see if people have good/bad things to say about them. There seems to be alot of negative comments here about them. Can someone please advise of good/bad experiences with 2008 2L ones. I have read on honest john about engine problems, DPF problems, what is DPF?). I don't have any car knowledge.

    Any advice would be much appreciated.
