Hi everyone. My dentist wont remove a tooth because of its location.
He said its something to do with sinus nerves?
Anyway it's the second molar on the top.
Unfortunately silly me didnt renew my health insurance when i joined my latest job.
He advised me to go to the <snip>for a surgical extraction.
Anybody have an idea of how much it would be?
    Thanks.

This is a surgical extraction by a specialist oral surgeon not a regular extraction by a dentist. If it was ordinary work your general dentist would do it. Depending on the type of anaesthetic you have (general, sedation, la only etc) you will pay between 200-2000.

You will find a general dentist that will give it a go for you, personally I wouldn't take that risk.

do i have a choice in the anasthetic. 2000 would be ridiculous for a tooth pull!

You certainly do, General anesthetics for dental work is pure madness as it the massive bill when you pay privately.

You can have the treatment under local anesthetic if you want.
If you are very nervous, you may want treatment under iv sedation, this is a smallish extra cost but not near the cost of GA.
You can have treatment under GA if you like spending money....

Some clinics only give the GA option, this is for their convenience not yours....

    Good luck,
    OS

    Hi guys.

Just got off the phone with <snip> and says i have to wait until August 3rd for a consultation for a surgical extraction!

I was hoping to get it done much sooner than this.

Does anyone know other clinics that do a surgical extraction so i may not have to wait so long?

    Thanks.
