My BIL has one. 07 or 08 I think.
Absolute brute on diesel. 400 miles to the tank and it's rarely carrying more than a welder and a bottle of gas. Granny driving gets another 25 miles.

He's tried two different remaps and while it got faster it didn't change the mpg. It's a dream to drive though.

We run a 174 auto and average 27mpg. Driving carefully only gets 30 approx, so keep her lit! Have it re-mapped to approx 210, but still get
same mpg. Don't really care, as it still brings a smile to my face, after 4
years, and the look on boy racers faces (or even middle aged exec car drivers) when you leave them sitting at the lights is worth the bad mpg, you only live once.

PS it also eats tyres, discs and pads.:D

I only got 23 mpg on the 130 bhp model round town,so I guess they're just heavy on fuel

Sshhhh ....Dont say it too loud but they're not the most reliable thing in the world either. Repair bills for these vans are bloody expensive. A 2.5 Trafic/Vivaro is a better van if you can find one. ;)

Vito 120 or the new 122. The v6 is so powerful and the noise makes you smile every time you drive it

So a transporter is a pig on diesel and lots of servicing costs

A trafic has electrical , gearbox ect issues

A hi-ace is HEAVY on fuel and a pig to drive

Merc are expensive and have (or had) reliability issues too...

    Ducato ... Enough said ...

Really just leaves the transit which I know F all about..

Transit eats bearings, boxes and starters/flywheels clutches, rust.. hard on juice too.

Iveco in that size are like hens teeth

Doesn't leave much, it's a bit like Hobsons choice.

Hyundai h1 would be worth a look too. Irish spec is 180hp as standard and they're rwd

Realiability issues on the vito are no more the new model which came out in 2011 have been spot on. They are no more expensive than the vw and a much nicer drive, if you get the 3.0l v6 ya will not look back

Fortunate that I managed to find a hens tooth! The local garage reckons they are bomb proof although not that comfortable to drive.

Dead right about the Transit, I had one before, comfortable to drive, the 2.0 durotorq was very good on fuel. 2 gearboxes, duff starters, gear linkage and sh1t loads of rust.

    TT
