Railway Union is a thriving multi-sports club centrally located in Sandymount, Dublin in close proximity to the beach with easy access to DART / public transport.

We have just launched an ambitious women's rugby programme for the 2012/2013 and we are looking for new players. Women’s rugby is becoming increasingly popular in Ireland embracing some fifty clubs. There is also an interprovincial series, similar to men’s rugby, and an Irish international women’s side that plays in the Six Nations and World Cup.

So whether you have played rugby before, have recently retired and want to stay in the game, or have never been involved in rugby before and you’re interested in getting involved in the off-field running of the club or team, we have a place for you.

Our experienced coaches can cater for all levels, whether you have played GAA, Tag Rugby, Hockey, Soccer or Baskeball you will have lots of fun learning rugby with us.

    Benefits:
    • Progressive and friendly club environment
    • Fully integrated club, where women’s rugby is an integral and valued part of the club and not a separate entity
    • Quality coaching teams, with excellent specialist guest coaches
    • Focus on your individual development so as to allow you to achieve your rugby potential – be it club player, international or future Olympian
    • Strong social scene, including start of season tour, various events throughout the year, Kinsale 7s, and end of season tour
    • Match standard floodlights to play and train (ensuring evening matches)
    • A circle of male and female friends outside of your normal environment
    • Active club roles available for work experience & other opportunities
    • Network opportunities with the Railway Union Business Network
We look forward to hear from you.

I have to say I agree with all the points laid out by the OP regarding the benefits of playing rugby - however I'm looking to recruit for their rivals, Old Belvedere!

OB is the first club in Ireland to field 3 ladies teams and as we begin the Leinster Cup are looking to recruit even more players. Our girls come from a variety of sporting (or even not-at-all-sporty!) backgrounds with a real mix of nationalities. We have a lively club social life along with the training and matches that will improve your fitness.

See http://www.oldbelvedere.ie/contact/location-map_.aspx for details on how to get to the club. It's even on plenty of bus routes!
