Just a quick question about Paye. I recently started a new job, I was on emergency tax for the first few weeks, but I am now on the tax basis: Normal.
However no tax has been deducted from my payslip, and I am wondering why this is????????????????????

Depending on your earnings you may be earning too little to pay PAYE. Currently a single PAYE worker can earn 16500 without paying PAYE. (This is based on the standard personal credit and PAYE credit covering the 3300 tax due on 16500)

Also if you have not worked already in the year you would have a build up of unused rate band and tax credits to work through before you are taxed as its on a cumulative basis.
