'Hunting'

    Hi folks,

    We've just bought a 00 megane classic, sometimes on starting the engine apparantley does what is called hunting, anyone know the cause?

    Could be an air sensor or a lambda sensor (or a number of other things). It would need a plug in diagnostic check.

    What engine has your megane got?

    Coolant temp sensor or throttle position sensor are 2 more to check.

    Diagnostic is the only way to go.

    Cracked or split hose also possible IMO.

    The two most common causes of hunting on the Renault 16 valve engines at least are not electrical.
