Android Phones with QWERTY keyboards?

Hi guys,

Looking for a little help here. I've had the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro for a year and a half now but I'm looking to get a new phone. My problem is that I can't seem to find many Android phones with QWERTY keyboards! I LOVE the one on the Mini Pro. My preferences for a phone are Android OS, sliding QWERTY keyboard and under 300 euro.

I've been searching network websites and can't find any phones to fit that preference. I was reading about the Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro but can't find it for sale anywhere. Same with the Samsung Captivate Glide.

Anyone have any recommendations at all?

You might have to source one outside the Irish providers, whose selection I find pretty crap, try Carfone warehouse maybe.

I know it's probably not what you're looking for but I had an N97 For the most part the phone was terrible, but I really loved the keyboard and swore that next time I got a phone a keyboard was a necessity. I got a HTC Desire (doesn't come with a keyboard) and never looked back. When you have keyboards like swiftkey on the market, even when you press the wrong button by accident it figures out what you're trying to say and makes it much quicker than using a regular keyboard.

I honestly think if you got a phone without the keyboard you'd miss it for about ten minutes

There is a newer, faster model of the Xperia Mini out with a marginally bigger screen, just called Xperia Mini Pro. Ice Cream sandwich update due within the next month. Costs 229.99 on voda

Theres not really many options to be honest, the upgraded version of your phone the Xperia Mini Pro mentioned in the post above is probably your best option, might be available somewhere else cheaper if you have a look around.

On Amazon you have the Motorola Pro Plus and the Xperia Pro you where looking for, however when buying it from amazon themselves it says usually dispatched within 1 to 3 months.

There aren't a lot of options available because some of the manufacturers including Htc have stopped making qwerty phones.

I've looking at the Samsung Captivate Glide myself but it is only available in US. I am thinking of buying it US and bringing it over with me. I really like the looks of the Samsung Captivate Glide.

I have the Xperia Mini Pro, it has awesome specs for the size of the phone and is a great compromise.

I got the Xperia S to replace it as wanted something with a bit more speed and bigger screen.

That is the only problem with the Mini Pro but if it wasn't an issue on the X10 Mini Pro for you then it probably wont' be on the Mini Pro.
