Why dont you look at the SOL list in australia immigration.

I had a look at the SOL list and can't see EMT / paramedic on it. The closest I could see was an Emergency medicine specialist which i presume is an ER doc:confused:

I would also double check that any training you do in Ireland will give you the neccessary qualifications for working in Australia. I dont know if an 8 week course would be sufficent. When i was in uni there was another girl in my course whose boyfriend was studying to become a paramedic. It was a three year uni course and a pass for their exams was 80%

This website from Ambulance Queensland should help

Yes there is a demand for paramedics in Australia. However an 8 week course would be nowhere near the requirements that is as has been mentioned four years. If it's something you want to do the amount of time spent studying should not daunt you. Best of luck in whatever you decide to do.
