    Hey everybody,

I am just looking for some advice regards doing the Accounting Technician course online.

I read in the Accounting Technician Ireland website you can do it online via a correspondence course.

Has anyone anyone actually done it online and was it very difficult without attending classes?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as Im really undecided whether or not to go ahead and do the course. Thanks.

    Thanks for the reply

I was thinking it would be tough enough alright on your own. But I have a FETAC Level 6 qualification in Bookkeeping and I am hoping to get two exemptions from Business Law and Management as I recently completed a FETAC Level 6 course.

Do you know if the online course is done through online lectures or just notes sent out to you?

I think you can do it with IATI in their own premises on Pearse Street, however it can be quite expensive, there are 4 modules and each is 395 euro.

You also have to pay registration fees, exams and books, for the first year I think around 650 euro.

I heard IBAT college in Swords are quite good, but i couldn't say for sure.

I am currently doing it in Plunket College in Drumcondra, 200 euro each module, evening classes Monday and Wednesday from 7 to 10. The Taxation lecturer is very good.

    Hi,

I can recommend both BPP & Griffith college in the city centre. Both have excellent lecturers. I would avoid IBAT - not good only interested in taking your money! I speak from experience - bad experience - crap lecturers & very poor time-table. I've learned the hard way & returning to Griffith this August.

Basically the college rating, pass rates should held you decide - don't be sucked in by colleges offering courses cheaper as you pay in the long run!

I would also recommend you do the ACCA - CAT as it opens more doors & better exemptions if you decide to undertake professional qualification.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers guys for info.

I found on the IATI website the list of colleges and interested in 2 colleges: Infinity Business College and Business Management Institute.

Anybody knows what kind of study they provided?

Thank you in advance for your help.
