Hi I was looking at An A4 tdi B6 today, the brake pad worn light was on, the pads are about 40% left and the plug are in for the sensors, Anyone know what wrong or how much it would cost to fix?

Have you took the pads out to check all over them is 40%. When my discs were about to go they had worn the pads on a thin line of the very inside.

Also the sensors only apply to front brakes, not the back.

no as I was just test driving the car had it up on a car lift. had a very good look at the pads both inner and outer.

If you are certain that the front and rear pads are ok and the sensors have not contacted a lip on the disk(meaning the disks need replacing) then the next most common issue is corrosion or damage on the connector for the sensor.

Found the and fixed the problem broken wire going from the plug to the pad on the passenger side.
