Any help would be appreciated coz iv spent the last 3 hours trying to sort this and no luck..

I bought a TENVIS ip602w outdoor IP camera and am trying to setup up so that i can view the live feed from any computer...

i followed the tutorials exactly http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y8yIdD78aGw , even setup a DDNS with www.dyndns.com which cost me $1.99 for a month but cannot get it to work....

Nearly sure my eircom netopia 2247NWG router is setup for port forwarding as i followed a few tutorials on that too...

Has any one any idea what could be wrong??

Can you get it externally via IP rather than DNS?

    Just http://your.external.ip.address:cameraport

i.e., I'm wondering if it's the ddns that's failing or is it your router failing to do the port forward.

Some routers won't route traffic from the network back into the network so you could use something like http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ to see if it's open. That link should also show you your external address.

using yougetsignal it tells me that the ip address with port 80 i used with the DDNS on dyndns.com is closed. How can i open it?

Is port 80 what the camera runs on and what you forwarded on the router?

camera is on port 81 with an ip address of 192.168.1.239

How would i go about opening port 81 or is there anything i can do to get it to work, im not very up to date on port forwarding and stuff like that....

192.168.1.239 is it's local ip address, you only see that inside the network, on the lan side of the router. To get to it from the internet you need to use the public ip address, You will find it by going here, it's the one assigned to your router by your ISP. To get to the camera from the internet you're going to have to portforward the port you're using (81) to the local IP (192.168.1.239), otherwise the router will not know where to send the traffic and will drop it.

This site gives guides for most routers: http://portforward.com/
