Drugs test

Hope I'm in the right place to ask this. A friend of mine is taking a court ordered drug test next week. I'll leave the reasons why out they're not important.

The crux of the issue is that he very regularly hangs out with 3 lads that smoke a lot of weed on a daily basis and the room is regularly quite smokey from it. He hasn't smoked weed in about 3 and a half years but lets the lads smoke in his place.

2 days ago I told him to be careful and steer clear of the lads for a while as the fact that he is in a very smokey room passively smoking what they are smoking it may show up in the test. Would it show up on the test if he is only smoking it passively but regularly?

I can't be 100% definite, no one can, but the chances are very high if he's constantly in a non-ventilated room with constant smoking. Anyone I know who don't smoke but "enjoy" being the same room say they feel the effects of it, if ever so slightly, but it will be in his system. He is inhaling the smoke, and if i'm not mistaken it can take up to 4 weeks (probably not in his case) for it to clear your system.

Depending on the sensitivity of the test I'd imagine THC metabolites would be detectable, even from second-hand smokes. Probably for a couple of weeks.

The cut-off level for false positives is what is important though
