windows issue

I have been having trouble with my laptop for a long while but have been getting away with it up until now.

About a year after buying it from a computer shop a notice starting appearing that "this may be a counterfeit version of windows" however as it did not effect the operating of the computer I took no notice (Stupidly)

Since then over the past year or so itunes has stopped working downloading updates of pod casts etc, it basically won't connect to the internet
I cannot use my printer with it as drivers are missing
Windows updates will not update they get so far and fail and trying out all the windows help options have made no difference
My internet mobile broadband dongle thing has recently stopped working as it says drivers are missing, a different one will also not work on it, both work on my work laptop as always.
As with both the printer and internet issues I have uninstalled and re installed everything but to no avail.
I have followed all help options on everything and looked up tips on the internet to get it sorted but nothing is working.

Basically my question is, would re installing a new windows or something like that work to get everything back working again or will I end up with the same problems again.

    Any advice is much appreciated
    Thanks

Can you bring it back to the shop? Sounds like they didn't install a proper license.

Thanks for the extremely quick response Khannie.

I cannot find the receipt anywhere (I have every other receipt possible apart from this one)
I know I bought it just over 2 years ago so its completely out of warranty
plus the fact that I should have brought it it straight away when the inital problem happened
I presumed without a receipt and it being over two years old at this stage there was no point in trying to bring it back, or am I wrong in this presumption

There should be a COA sticker on the laptop see here for examples, read it an see what operating system can be legally installed on it XP/Vista/Windows 7 starter/premium/ultimate, then does it match what is installed? If it matches then they've done nothing wrong and it's Microsofts fault, if it doesn't match you'll either have to go back to the shop where you bought it and get them to install the correct Operating System, or get someone you know to do it.

The shop should have a record of you having bought the laptop there; but as it is two years they may not entertain a free repair/fix; however you've nothing to loose by asking them..

You should be able to download podcasts to your ipod ,if you have acess to wifi,
regardless of the state of your pc.Maybe try ,uninstall itunes, download install the latest version.
i just use my pc and itunes to drag and drop podcasts on to my ipod, while i,m charging it theu usb
cable. And to delete podcasts ,which i earlier transfered from pc thru the usb cable.
it sounds like you have a virus, which is deleting driver files.
if you go to 3 , 02shop or vodaphone shop ,they,ll give you an install disc cd to reinstall the usb modem
.depends on where you bought the usb broadband unit.

if you bought it new the shop should have a record of the purchase,
    goes by laptop serial no,
i lost my receipt ,I could still get a gaurantee , repair,as shop had record of tv on their computer .
