First promo is cheesy, but if this series is anything like the last, I can't wait.

Went looking for this the other week thinking it was a Summer show and was dissapointed to read August.

    It's sooo good!

Actually, we "stupid Americans" haven't forgotten the first Season in the UK. However, when Cinemax bought the rights to the series, they started with Season 1, because not all of us "stupid Americans" had the knowledge, and therefore, pleasure of seeing Season 1. It would not have made since to start with Season 2, when, to all intents and purposes, it was a brand new show.

I, myself, call last season, "Season 2" because I did have the pleasure of seeing the original UK production. (And I will say I was disappointed in "Season 2" after watching Richard Armitage's version.) And, though I consider myself a reasonably intellegent woman, I do not believe I am an example of the most intellegent American. Would you say the same of you Brits?

Oh dear! That post contained some credibility until that last statement...

Yes, it was to prove a point. However, I guess I should ensure it was perceived in the manner it was written.

By saying "Can you say the same for you Brits," I was meaning, would he say he was of the most intelligent Brits. NOT, did he think Brits were as intelligent as Americans.

My whole point was his slandering us as a people. I would never be presumptuous as to do the same. I hope it wasn't taken in that text.

I stand by my opinion that most Americans are Paris Hilton vapid and stupid.....and network execs. make decisions based on fear and cancel on a whim.... :)

Much preferred the first season, Porter's death killed it for me.

Last season was great I thought, the two main guys work off each other well. One of the best shows on tv.

Actionwise I think season 3 is possibly going to better than the last. Going by the trailers it looks they have more of a budget it to blow on it (no pun intended) e.g. they didn't have a couple of fighter aircraft and "helicopter attacks" in the last series.

Yeah I was gutted when Porter died but then again he had to go film The Hobbit. When I was watching season 2 last year I was hoping it was all a big, eleborate hoax by Porter and he was miraculously come back in the last episode but no...didn't happen... I think lots of people liked Porter so much that when they killed him off it turned off a lot of people but when you get over the fact that Porter is dead the second season is excellent. Stoney and Scott work off each other very well and are great contrasts and are very convincing.

Yeah Rhona Mitra is fine as f*ck! You know Scott or Stoney get to ball/double team her!

    Lads..

What is going on here then?

I've deleted links to first three episodes, and infracted the users.

Just because it's on YouTube doesn't mean it's fair game.

Next link or discussion of such will recieve a banning for their trouble!

This season seems to have one hell of a budget. There are bigger/more explosions in every episode, crazy stuff.
Great entertainment though, the season is moving along nicely.

I think they're overdoing it a bit this season tbh. The fire fights in particular are really straining credulity.

For the first two seasons, the fire fights were generally some bit believable, or at least when they were ridiculously out-gunned there was a sense that they were genuinely lucky to survive.

This season feels much more like two bullet proof Rambos running around shooting hundreds of baddies. It takes a lot of the tension and excitement out of it for me.

^ they get hundreds of extras for pennies in South Africa...and i suspect the bullets and C4 is on tap, but one...get 10 free! ;)
    Season 3 finale on Friday.

Season finale done and dusted....still have to catch up, wonder who gets knocked off?

  • Moderators, Entertainment Moderators Posts: 18,002 Mod ✭✭✭✭ixoy

I've been catching up on this show, watching 2 episodes each weekend. Worked out perfectly for me because I was able to keep going to this finale.

What a highly entertaining show this is. More testosterone than nearly all series combined and some cracking action sequences.

Charles Dance did a good job as Conrad Knox - an interesting villain. An unusual notion to be fighting to clean up Africa, admittedly in not the most friendly manner.

Looking forward to the next season. Not sure what show can replace the bullet-fuelled insanity now. "Person of Interest" perhaps but it's just not nearly as nuts.

It was a good season, but I was a bit underwhelmed by the finale. They didn't have the balls to kill Dalton (so why even have her shot in the first place?). The whole thing about Knox's father was a bit tacked on too.

Still, I enjoyed the season. Looking forward to next year.

I took it as a humorous nod to their tendency to kill their team leader in the previous two finales. A bit tongue-in-cheek because we almost expected it.
The whole thing about Knox's father was a bit tacked on too.
Didn't care for that - I'm going with his original reasoning of trying to remove the corruption from Africa.

Did it actually air yet on Cinemax? Myepisodes.com has these airing much later on.

Yes it was on Cinemax on Friday night. The MyEpisodes listing is for Sky One....
